College of Computer Sciences and Mathematics - Tikrit University

First: Department of Computer Sciences

     Department of Computer Science was established at the Faculty of Sciences at University of Tikrit in 1999 and began to attract students to provide the community with scientific cadres qualified to work in the field of computer sciences equipped with the latest theoretical and practical experience in design and construction of software systems and computer network technologies and the preparation of software in various scientific disciplines facing them in life after graduation whether it is in the academic or applied side to be qualified to work in institutions, so they continue their higher education and prepare for all the innovators in the field of computer sciences. As well as the establishment of training courses and training by the teaching staff in the department since its establishment for all public and private sector employees within Salah Al- Deen province and outside in various fields related to computer sciences and provide scientific advices to all departments of the state.

Second: Department of Mathematics

     Department of Mathematics was established in College of Sciences in the academic year 2002 - 2003. The department aims at the following:

1. Making efforts to instill the love of specialization among the students of the department by clarifying the importance of Mathematics and its uses in different areas of life.

2. Preparing outstanding students as a first step towards completion of their graduate studies to obtain a master's and doctorate degree, which the country suffers from a large shortage.

3. Preparing specialized cadres to work in the various state institutions in the fields of modeling, operations research, statistics and computers.

4. There is still a need for graduates of Mathematics departments to work in secondary education in addition to working in Mathematics departments as researchers assistants.
